Movies I've seen in the past month T13 ed #9

I have been borrowing DVDs from the library over the last month and here's what I've checked out and viewed so far.
1. Pride and Prejudice - I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audio book and so I decided that I wanted to see it on screen as well. I was not disappointed. The ensemble of actors were all good. I woould recommend to anyone.

2. The Notebook - I have seen this movie before. And I remember liking it. I listened to the audio book and fell in love with the characters, I needed to see the movie all over again. What a great love story. Very good movie.

3. Match Point - kind of a quirky story. Story of love gone wrong all beacuse of the evil of money.

4. Prime - Funny and adorable. Not quite the ending I'd like it to be but hey, Merryl Streep as always gives a glorious performance.

5. Crash - i love the way stories of lives are connected. It is so true. We touch everyone's life without even knowing it. This movie is very good. I liked it a lot.

6. Shop Girl - Shop Girl was quite good too, a different Steve Martin movie. I'm sure the book is much better. They tend to do more justice to the characters than movies.

7. Spanglish - Spanglish was really good. I did not expect such for an Adam Sandler movie but it was really good. The ending was not as I wanted it to be but it was good just the same.

8. Mrs Henderson Presents - I discovered Mrs Henderson Presents from the previews on one of the DVDs I was watching and I surely had to watch it. The trailer was very interesting. It was a good movie. Judi Dench was a delight as always.

9. Under The Tuscan Sun - spoke about this here.

10. Two For the Money - I could watch this movie forever just looking and goggling over Matthew McConaughey's 6 pack. But yah, acting was very good too with Al Pacino in the cast, its contagious I guess.

11. Annie - Ofcouorse I had to check this DVD out not only for my daughter but for myself as well. Annie is quite a character. Would love to see this on stage someday soon.

12. Heidi - What a touching tale. Shirley Temple was delightful. Very cute.

13. Little Miss Broadway - another Shirley Temple movie. Got my kid hooked on oldies movies now.

My to do list : Thursday 13 ed#7

With Christmas fast approaching, there seems to be less time to do all the things I need to accomplish.

So here is a list to help me in doing them all.
1. Buy a Christmas tree this weekend
2. Decorate the tree and the house with ornaments and lights
3. Send out my Christmas cards to the Christmas card exchange program I joined through Amy's blog
4. Send out my exchange ornament. This was hosted by Kailani. I have the ornament already, I just have to mail it.
5. Send Christmas card to family and friends, yes I still like to do it the old fashioned way.
6. Go out and buy Christmas presents for everyone in my list (yes, I need to make the list too). I guess I'll be needing extra cash for that.
7. Wrap the presents
8. Plan for a few dinner get together with friends
9. Bake cookies
10. Send Christmas e-cards
11. Wrap and send presents to relatives and friends in the US ( I have a few)
12. Start my exercise routine. I have been bad and have not been to the gym in a long, long time. I need to get back in track and try not to indulge too much this holidays.
13. Relax and enjoy the holiday

My messy desk Thursday 13 ed#5

Here are 13 random things I have on my desk, in the office, aka as the "computer room". I am a culprit in not keeping it tidy. Most of the time, my hubby organizes it for me. Below are some photos of the desk.

1. hairband - my daughter's
2. a groovy girls doll named Britta
3. paper organizers (it has magazines, catalogues, etc)
4. mail organizer - junk mail, some cheques that I need to deposit, bills, etc
5. painted egg carton, see top of the monitor; craft done by my daughter
6. blue rubber bracelet, Britta is actually on top of it
7. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets DVD
8. Pen holder
9. wireless mouse (it's also on the paper/file mesh organizer) - its not working
10. a basket with miscellaneous stuff that needs to be put away - this basket is on the mesh organizer
11. a book - its on the basket - titled "Bad Idea" ; I got it through FIRST.
12. a purple marker
13. and yes, the monitor, keyboard, mouse, speaker, printer and webcam

1. Rainbows after the rain and sun mix
2. Sound of rain pouring on my skylight roof

4. Smell of fresh laundry
5. Feel of fresh linens and bed sheets
6. Birds chirping to wake me up and say hello in the morning
7. Orange lights from the orange sun on a beautiful morning sunrise
8. Amazing techni-colour skies from the sunsets
9. A good tear jerker movie or tv show
10. a walk by the beach
11. A good massage
12. A phone call from someone I love
13. Butterfly kisses and bear hugs from my daughter

Driving to work takes me between 45 minutes to an hour. And back home takes roughly the same time, give or take a quarter or more depending on traffic.

I usually listen to the radio but I've found it soothing to listen to some CDs of my favourite artists instead of just listening to traffic and news repeated every 15 minutes.

3. I've been working in the same company for 13 years now.
4. I met the love of my life at work
5. He is not of Asian origin
6. We now have a beautiful daughter
7. She just graduated from Senior kindergarten.
8. We enjoy walking as a family
9. Discovered this beautiful park the other day with high and long bridge to walk on.
10. We will go there again to take photos
11. I love taking photos although I only have a 6MB digital camera.
12. I would love to get an SLR camera
13. I would like to learn photography.
