Movies I've seen in the past month T13 ed #9

I have been borrowing DVDs from the library over the last month and here's what I've checked out and viewed so far.
1. Pride and Prejudice - I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audio book and so I decided that I wanted to see it on screen as well. I was not disappointed. The ensemble of actors were all good. I woould recommend to anyone.

2. The Notebook - I have seen this movie before. And I remember liking it. I listened to the audio book and fell in love with the characters, I needed to see the movie all over again. What a great love story. Very good movie.

3. Match Point - kind of a quirky story. Story of love gone wrong all beacuse of the evil of money.

4. Prime - Funny and adorable. Not quite the ending I'd like it to be but hey, Merryl Streep as always gives a glorious performance.

5. Crash - i love the way stories of lives are connected. It is so true. We touch everyone's life without even knowing it. This movie is very good. I liked it a lot.

6. Shop Girl - Shop Girl was quite good too, a different Steve Martin movie. I'm sure the book is much better. They tend to do more justice to the characters than movies.

7. Spanglish - Spanglish was really good. I did not expect such for an Adam Sandler movie but it was really good. The ending was not as I wanted it to be but it was good just the same.

8. Mrs Henderson Presents - I discovered Mrs Henderson Presents from the previews on one of the DVDs I was watching and I surely had to watch it. The trailer was very interesting. It was a good movie. Judi Dench was a delight as always.

10. Two For the Money - I could watch this movie forever just looking and goggling over Matthew McConaughey's 6 pack. But yah, acting was very good too with Al Pacino in the cast, its contagious I guess.

11. Annie - Ofcouorse I had to check this DVD out not only for my daughter but for myself as well. Annie is quite a character. Would love to see this on stage someday soon.

12. Heidi - What a touching tale. Shirley Temple was delightful. Very cute.

13. Little Miss Broadway - another Shirley Temple movie. Got my kid hooked on oldies movies now.

Game Plan and Dreamer

Is it Father's Day? it seems like the theme of movies we've watched this weekend was all about dad and daughter relationships.

Last Saturday, My sister and I together with our daughters went to see a movie. We were planning to watch "The Bee" movie but the movie theater we went to did not have this in the line up. I guess, I did not check good enough at tribute.ca to check out the schedules. I really thought it was there. Anyway, we ended up with this movie . It stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Madison Pettis. While the movie "Game Plan" was suppose to be a comedy. The tears flowed down my eyes on this heartwarming story of a famous football player who learns of a daughter he has never known he's got. It is actually a good movie. I glanced over my sister and saw her wiping her tears away. Her daughter too balled her eyes out. My daughter? Ahh...she said she almost cried, she said " i had a very heavy heart mommy, I almost cried". I think she felt left out that we were all crying, that she said after the movie ..."we can watch it on DVD mommy and I will cry then".





And Sunday, I went to the library and borrowed a couple of DVDs and some books.

One of the DVD movie I got was called "Dreamer" and found it to be really good too. It stars Kurt Russel and Dakota Fanning. Another heartwarming story of how this father and daughter team brought their relationship to new heights while caring and training an injured breed horse back to victory.

All in all. It was a a good weekend.


I should tell my husband to watch these movies with my daughter, I wander if they'll cry?

Ocean's Thirteen

The other day, hubby and I finally got the chance to go on a movie date. I've wanted to see Ocean's 13 since I've heard it filming. Aside from the fact that we've seen Ocean's 11 and 12 both on the big screen and on TV, I wanted to watch these handsome men on screen again. George Clooney and Brad Pitt were a delight to see and watch. They were true to their characters. I really liked this film better than the 2nd one. This one came close to really being as good as the 1st one. Ofcourse, Ocean's 11 was still the best for me.

The last time we saw Danny Ocean's crew, they were paying back ruthless casino mogul Terry Benedict after stealing millions from him. However, it's been a while since they've come back together, which is all about to change. When one of their own, Reuben Tishkoff builds a hotel with known casino owner Willy Banks, the last thing he ever wanted was to get cut out of the deal personally by the loathsome Banks. Banks' attitude even goes so far as to finding the amusement in Tishkoff's misfortune when the double crossing lands Reuben in the hospital because of a heart attack. However, Danny and his crew won't stand for Banks and what he's done to a friend. Uniting with their old enemy Benedict, who himself has a vendetta against Banks, the crew is out to pull off a major plan. One that will unfold on the night Banks' newest hot spot opens up, when the crew is out to bankrupt one of the city's most despised businessmen. But they're not in this for the money, but for the revenge
