Learn to play piano

>> Friday, January 4, 2008

I've always wanted to play the piano. However I have never had any piano lessons in my life. Everytime I see a piano, I try to touch it and hope that I will somehow learn to play a tune one day. I somehow try to key in some notes hoping to get a music going.

Playpiano.com publishes a free Piano lessons & piano chords via email newsletter. It is sent out every 5 days or so and lasts for 101 issues. There is no cost for the email newsletter.

Full-blown piano courses on DVD for adults are for sale which are mentioned in the newsletters. There is never any obligation to purchase them. However, this is a good opportunity to start learning on your own and maybe play the music you've wanting to.

Josh Groban

I just got Josh Groban's new Christmas album entitled "Noel".
Played it this morning and I am certainly feeling that Christmas is just around the corner.

The cold autumn air has finally come and it seems just right to start playing Christmas songs. I never get tired of them. And different artist's rendition of same songs make it more enjoyable.

Is it me or is it Josh Groban's singing but somehow tears started to trickle down my face as I listened to his songs. And if that was not enough, I put in his other CD and my heart ached some more. He sings this Italian or is it Spanish? songs though I dont understand, I feel the pain. It is just so touching.

Here is a video clip I found in you Tube of his famous song "You Raise Me Up"

Blue moon.. You saw me standing alone… Without a dream in my heart… Without a love of my own… Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for, you heard me saying a prayer for someone I really could care for… And then suddenly appeared before me the only one my arms could ever hold… I heard somebody whisper “Please, adore me”. And when I looked, the moon had turned to gold… Oh, blue moon, now I’m no longer alone, without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own…

13 music CD's I've listened to in the past month - Thursday 13 ed#3

>> Tuesday, July 17, 2007

Driving to work takes me between 45 minutes to an hour. And back home takes roughly the same time, give or take a quarter or more depending on traffic.

I usually listen to the radio but I've found it soothing to listen to some CDs of my favourite artists instead of just listening to traffic and news repeated every 15 minutes.

So here are 13 of the albums i've listened to so far
1. Michael Buble's
"Call Me Irresponsible". Checkout this site for some neat songs and videos
2. Diana Krall's "The Look of Love"
3. Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape"
4. Carrie Underwood's "Some Hearts"
5. Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad"
6. Celine Dion's "Falling into You"
7. Sarah McLachlan's "Surfacing"
8. Roch Voisine's "Kissing Rain"
9. "When I Look in your Eyes"Diana Krall's
11. Ally Mc Beal SoundTrack featuring Vonda Shepard.

And some Filipino artists

12. The Best of Sharon Cuneta CD
13. Lea Salonga's "In Love"
